At Patchwork, we strive to be a community that changes with the diverse needs of those around us. Our emergency food pantry has operated since the very inception in 1977. The Artist Cooperative and Gallery just opened in December 2006. Other initiatives have come and gone over the years depending on where needs intersected the talents and gifts of those involved. For the past decade, the arts have played an increasingly important role, especially when working with children. Creative and performing arts require focus, perseverance, determination, and self-discipline. Children who acquire these traits have within their grasp a future of unlimited potential. As part of the community fabric, Patchwork Central changes the lives of those it serves by giving them a sense of hope, a place of acceptance, and a bright outlook for the future.
