Since that time, John went on to become an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and Amy has continued her career as an artist, taught art in community settings, and earned a Master's degree in art education. Miriam Regier Urban Gardener

Miriam grew up on a small farm near Newton, Kansas, where she spent my summers working on the farm and in the garden, and attended Bethel College in North Newton, KS, graduating with degrees in math and German. She was attracted to Patchwork by the opportunity to work in a garden that served people who don't necessarily have space or other resources to raise their own food. She is interested in raising and eating food that is good for our bodies, our local and global communities, and for the earth, in all of the ways that manifests itself.

Melissa Dyck Food Activist

Growing up on a farm in rural Manitoba (Winkler) has played a particular role in shaping Melissa’s interests. She was always very active in the garden and all associated activities including the planting, weeding, harvesting, preserving and preparing meals. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science from University of Manitoba (in Winnipeg, Manitoba). Her interests continue to be linked to food and just living and these have brought her to work with the River City Food Co-op and Patchwork Central.
