MVS, part of Mennonite Mission Network, is a nation-wide program that matches voluntary service workers with community organizations. These participants bring a commitment to walk with the disadvantaged and those who suffer injustice. They are active in issues of the local neighborhood and local faith community where they are assigned. They live simply in a shared household, and learn from new settings where perceptions and outlooks may vary from their own. Workers at Patchwork come for 2-3 year terms of service, and Patchwork covers their basic expenses. Patchwork has been a MVS placement since 1988, and has hosted 15 workers. The current MVS workers are John and Leah Eads. |
